Sylvia and I are thrilled to be invited to CYC Seattle on March 24th, 2023, for an evening of

"Everything you wanted to know about Van Isle 360 but was afraid to ask"

Doors and Bar open at 1800 and fun begins at 1900 hours.

Sylvia and I will be there along with Steve Johnson and Steve & Suzanne Travis.

Steve Johnson will provide a presentation on the race, and we will answer any questions related to on the water activities, safety checks, and "Roadie Activities".

There may be some pop quiz questions on the Skipper Planning Guide and the Roadie Planning Guide, with some 2023 Van Isle 360 SWAG up for grabs with reasonably correct answers. Here's the link for study hall: Van Isle 360

After almost 4 years of being confined to quarters, we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

See you on March 24th at the Clubhouse!

WOWSA (Women on the Water Sailing) hosted by the Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle is an opportunity for women to learn and build comradery among female sailors of all levels of experience. The main goal is to have fun and form friendships with those who have a shared love for being on the water.

We do recommend some basic sailing experience as this is not intended to be an official sailing course. However, coaches and other women crew will share their knowledge and you will develop your sailing skills. The biggest requirements are enthusiasm and non-marking shoes.

Typical things you will learn - parts of the boat, safety, getting the boat ready, getting sails up, SAILING, wind direction, and teamwork.

If you have a PFD (personal flotation device, i.e. life jacket) you are welcome to bring it, but the boats will have them available for use. Wear warm layers and be prepared for rain as the wind makes it colder on the water.

WOWSA takes place over three Fridays, May 5, 12, and 19th. You will meet at your assigned boat between 5:00 and 5:30 pm. After sailing, all participants and their coaches will meet at CYC for dinner and socializing (no-host bar).

Women of color, black or indigenous who may have financial constraints can receive a 50% discount. Please email shauna.walgren@gmail.com

CYC would like to thank the owners for volunteering their boats and the coaches for volunteering their time.

Kingston Ferry Cruise - Dec 2

Join us to catch the Edmonds Ferry to Kingston for the Annual Festival of Trees. The park at the marina is decorated with fabulous, illuminated sculptures in all kinds of whimsical themes. We'll plan to arrive in time for the Christmas Tree Lighting. With any luck, we'll catch the Elvis impersonator, then enjoy dinner together before walking back to the ferry for the ride back to Edmonds.

    More details to come...
