Jack Connick will talk to us about using Windy.com for marine weather predictions in the Pacific Northwest.
Jack says: “Windy.com is a very popular weather prediction tool for use on phones and tablets. It is web based. It has a bunch of features that many people don't know about. I'll try to show off a bit of this online program for weather forecasting for boating. One new feature is route planning. You can either establish a route in Windy or import it from your nav program as a .gpx file. It can then show you the many details of the weather, wind and water conditions over the time of your cruise. You can change the timeline (day/time) for better conditions. This information is kept updated. Some, not all, of the extra features are available on a tablet, but not phones.”
