Did your child have a great time in their Opti class and their instructor says they are ready to move on to the exciting world of racing? This clinic style camp runs for a full week and prepares your child to join our steadily growing race team that practices 8 months out of the year. Any student, ages 8-12 and under 100 pounds may participate. This class focuses on:

Teamwork and cooperation
Racing tactics
Mark roundings
Starting techniques
Rules of racing

All instruction possible will occur outdoors, and if indoor instruction occurs due to weather, social distancing will be practiced. Our CYC clubhouse offers two stories of open floor plans which are great during inclement weather. We will be conducting temperature checks and a COVID questionnaire with all students and staff at the beginning of each day, and requiring masks at all times while off the water. Each boat will be cleaned between each use and will be used by the same sailors throughout the week. If a student shows signs of COVID in any way during the week, they will be asked to leave the camp.

All our sail camps require your child to pass a simple safety check in the water for liability. This safety check is performed during the beginning of their session on Monday, and is a basic swim and capsize check, with a life jacket on. Please be aware that if your child cannot enter the water, they will be asked to not come back and we cannot offer a refund.
