To maintain compliance with US tax law, all participants are required to be members of CYC Seattle. CYC Membership is month-to-month and per family and is only $55/mo. This $55 will be included in your total registration fee if you are not currently a member.

This class runs Monday through Friday from 1:00-4:00.

The guppies class is the best place for brand new sailors aged 6-8 and less than 100 lbs. This half day week long introduction to sailing can be participated in by students who are interested in the fundamentals of being on and around the water. Students often sail together with an instructor and junior instructor. Small class sizes and fun interactive activities help your little one feel safe and comfortable on the water. In this class, we focus on:

Using games to learn and have a lot of FUN!
The vocabulary of sailing
Being comfortable in, around, and on the water
How to be safe and smart around water
How wind and sails work together to make a boat move through the water
Basic knot tying

All instruction possible will occur outdoors, and if indoor instruction occurs due to weather, social distancing will be practiced. Our CYC clubhouse offers two stories of open floor plans which are great during inclement weather. Vaccinations will not be required and we will continue to follow COVID protocols as directed by state and local health officials.

All our sail camps require your child to pass a simple safety check in the water for liability. This safety check is performed during the beginning of their session on Monday, and is a basic swim and capsize check, with a life jacket on. Please be aware that if your child cannot enter the water, they will be asked to not come back and we cannot offer a refund.
