March 18-19 – Port Blakely Raft Up

S/V Whale Shadow will host the event as the cruise leaders. We hope you’ll consider joining us in this lovely anchorage where we’ll likely have views of downtown — weather depending. This anchorage offers many possibilities to drop the hook and has relatively good holding.

We’ll have a loose set of plans for the event, but the highlights include several hiking options. The nearest and easiest is the Blakely Harbor Park Trail at the head of the bay. The longer option includes the first trail and leads to another which will take us to Fort Ward park where we can see the ruins of the old fort. Bring along your desired small crafts as this bay also offers good paddling, kayaking, and small craft sailing opportunities.

We’ll plan to monitor VHF channel 72 for incoming boats wishing to raft up or to anchor near others.
