Cruising | Bremerton Bridge Blast

Last year 9 CYC boats and 20 people attended our cruise to Port Orchard on a beautiful warm sunny weekend.  The fireworks and activities were cancelled due to the pandemic; nevertheless, we had a great time mingling on the docks, and walking in Port Orchard.  We will always remember it was really hot, maybe around 90 degrees Fahrenheit that weekend!

This year the Bremerton Bridge Blast web page has already been set up: https://www.bremertonbridgeblast.com/  The fireworks are on Saturday evening set off the bridge – some launched into the air over the bridge, and others raining into the water below.  We can watch from the Port Orchard side, or take the foot ferry from the Port Orchard marina across to Bremerton, and then walk over to the bridge to see the fireworks show up close. 

Earlier Saturday afternoon there is a market set up near the Port Orchard marina, and then a parade of floats, cars, and bands down main street. The Port Orchard Fathoms of Fun web page has been posted, but does not have events posted yet:  https://www.fathomsofun.org/

I will reserve some moorage slips for us in Port Orchard now, and adjust the numbers as the cruise weekend approaches.  It is easier to give up slips than to add them, as last year there was another group sharing the marina and party tent.
