Come spend the Labor Day weekend with us in bucolic Filucy Bay near Longbranch in the South Sound.

The Plan

A nice, lazy, relaxing cruise. Southwest of Tacoma on the Key Peninsula. The large, quiet cove is dinghy and kid friendly. Raft-up and pot-lucks. Fantastic view of Rainier! Good areas for exploration: safe and quiet or more distantly exciting - like Eagle Island State Park (between McNeil and Anderson Islands). Biking is also possible. Filucy Bay has a four star rating (out of five) by cruising author Migael Scherer. Friends and family can even drive there!

Travel:

  • While navigation is each boat's individual responsibility (as usual) a good guide to start with would be Chart #18448.
  • Tides are OK heading south on Friday and Saturday. Excellent for retuning north on Monday.
  • Local services are limited: bike-able, not really walkable, Taxi/Lyft/Uber situation unknown

Note: Shore access is limited to dinghies at the Longbranch Improvement Club marina. Reciprocal dockage is highly unlikely, unless you have connections. This is one of the small community's bigger homecoming weekends. Usually a musical celebration.

All-in-all this should be a delightfully low-key atmosphere!
