Interested in improving your sailing/racing skills? Want to get into racing? CYC Seattle is hosting an evening racing series just for women. Come out and race on some of 48degree North’s top 25 race boats, with some of the best women racers as coaches in the PNW. Every Thursday night in June we will be racing. Everyone will be broken up into teams (t-shirts included), and we will have our own start in June’s Thursday evening races.
What you can expect from this course:
- Have FUN!
- Learn the different positions on a race boat
- Tactics and Strategy (Starts, Roundings)
- What is involved in a race and how they are run
- Teamwork
- Improve your skills
After each race we will be gathering at the yacht club for awards and recap. Dinner and drinks are available for and added cost ($7 dinner, $5-7 drinks)
Active sailing experience is required. WE will be racing regardless of weather, (rain, cold, etc) unless the PRO cancels races If you are interested in learning about sailing and seeing if it's for your (racing or cruising) check out or Women’s Intro to Sailing [link to event] -held on Thursday nights in June.
Gear required:
- Non marking shoes/boots (preferably sailing shoes)
- Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Sense of humor
- Commitment to fun
- Gear suggested:
- Foul weather gear (we race in sun or rain)

- water bottle
- Sunscreen

Please note: There will be men on board (boat owners, additional crew, etc).
